Welcome! I'm Hannah De Oliveira Wells, an autistic artist and storyteller living in Eastbourne, England with my two bunnies, two children and one husband.I create original paintings, high quality prints, stationery and pins inspired by fantasy books and fairytales. All card and paper products including envelopes are made using FSC certified recycled stock, my pins are made from sustainable birch wood and all orders are sent using plastic free packaging.
A bit o background...
Incredibly passionate about film making and particularly film studies, I earned a bachelor's degree with honours in Film and Television Production in my early 20s. I absolutely loved picking films apart to reveal every which way it's meanings and stories were woven into its production. The things I loved to film most were macro close ups of flies washing, the weave of fabrics, and water running across pebbles.During my degree I realised I didn't want to follow film into a career, and instead had my first child which ended up starting off a career in education. ✏️📚
Having worked with children for over a decade, earning a master's degree in Early Years Education and qualifying as an EY Teacher along the way, I have been lucky enough to spend my whole adult life around whimsy and wonder. Too many of us get to adulthood and forget to dream and play. 🏰
This is undoubtably a big influence on my artwork to date, and something I think is so special to share.Autism is a wonderful strength in my life; I wouldn't be me without it and I wouldn't trade it even if I could. At the same time, I can't say that it's been an easy feat keeping up with neurotypical demands of employed work.

Now I work at home creating art and stories without so many social demands and maintain a happy balance of expression and hard work without reaching constant burnout and shutdowns.The Potter's Palette artwork, cards, stationery and pins are inspired heavily by books, nature, cosiness and magic. All the best thing life's about really! I offer whimsical pet and people portraits, whether you want your pet or friend to look like a royal, a wizard, a fairy or a butterfly. We can dream up something magical together and I will make it come to life for you.
The Potter's Post Club!
We now have our own art and story club! By "we" I don't mean me and a team of people, I mean me and YOU! Every month club members get to vote on what they want to see in the next month's box, then I write an original, magical story full of whimsy and wonder and paint two illustrations inspired by it. Depending on the tier, there are lots of stationery extras, physical and digital options to suit every budget. Everything made at The Potter's Post Club and The Potter's Palette is printed onto FSC certified recycled paper and sent using plastic free packaging - including card and bookmark sleeves which are made out of wood based pulp and plastic free bio film. 🌱🌍
